BLOWN TIRE RV WRECK

A recreational vehicle sustained major damage to its front end during an single-vehicle accident that ocurred at 6:38 p.m. Thursday, at Mile Post 17 on Highway 68. Golden Valely Fire District Duty Officer Captain Dave Martin, firefighters from Station #12, River Medical Ambulance Service and DPS responded to the accident. INMATE TAKES OWN LIFE AT LOCAL STATE PRISON

The Arizona Department of Corrections reports an inmate took his own life at the privately operated state prison in the northwest Arizona community of Golden Valley. A news release stated that Dean L. Mills died Saturday from an undisclosed “apparent act of self harm.” Mills, 61, had been serving a five year prison sentence for an aggravated assault conviction out of Maricopa County. SUBSTITUTE TEACHER KILLLED ENROUTE TO WORK AT KHS

  The Department of Public Safety has released the name of the victim on a fatal traffic accident in the northwest Arizona community of Golden Valley. DPS said Kenneth Field, 61, a Golden Valley resident, was dead at the scene of the 6:49 a.m. accident on highway 68. The agency said Field was driving a 2006 Toyoto pickup truck that went off the highway, struck a culvert and overturned. The accident remains under investigation. SHOOTING DEATH INVESTIGATED IN GOLDEN VALLEY

The Mohave County Sheriff’s office is investigating a deadly altercation in the northwest Arizona community of Golden Valley. Agency spokeswoman Trish Carter said deputies responded at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, April 1 to a home in the 3500 block of N Magma Road. Carter said Matthew Joseph Ochoa, 27, Golden Valley, was dead at the scene. She said investigators believe Ochoa stabbed another man and that the unidentified subject shot and killed Ochoa.
