The Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District handled a small brush fire in north Kingman on Wednesday, May 24. Personnel responded at 2:47 p.m. to the fire that burned along a fence line in the vicinity of the intersection of Butler Avenue and Sierra Vista. Schools in the Bullhead City Elementary and Colorado River Union High School Districts will offer summer school programs beginning May 30. Elementary and junior high classes will be offered through June 9. High school classes will be available through June 22. Bus transportation is available in some areas. Classes and subjects vary by campus. Faculty members from different schools are collaborating on the programs. Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a single vehicle rollover accident on the Mt. Trumbull Loop, BLM road 1069, early Thursday (5/25) evening. At about 5:07 p.m., deputies responded to the scene of an injury accident. Eric Avila was driving the truck with his cousin, Jose Najera as passenger. They are both 17 years old and residents of Utah. Avila was airlifted by Mercy Air to Dixie Regional Medical Center while Najera was airlifted by Lifeflight to Dixie Regional Medical Center. The American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) recently honored Janet Lumpkin, Administrator of Havasu Regional Medical Center Skilled Nursing Center in Lake Havasu City, with the 2017 Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award. The leadership award was celebrated during the awards luncheon at ACHCA’s 51st Annual Convocation and Exposition in St. Louis, Missouri on April 4, 2017.
