MORNING FIRE SCORCHES ROSIE’S DEN AGAIN

  It was almost six years ago when fire destroyed Rosie’s Den, a popular restaurant and lounge that served as a stopping point for U.S. 93 travelers some 45 miles north of Kingman. The property that was rebuilt was again scorched by fire early Monday. FIELDHOUSE PROPERTY PURCHASE COMPLETED

  Officials of the Colorado River Union High School District (CRUHSD) have announced completion of the purchase of a 15 acre site near the south end of the Bullhead Parkway for the Colorado River Fieldhouse. Final negotiations were approved last month by the CRUHSD school board, but details could not be released until both parties signed binding contracts, escrow closed and the title was transferred. CHILD ABUSE ARREST

  A north Kingman resident was arrested for child abuse following an argument with his girlfriend and an encounter with her daughter. The violence occurred July 21 at a residence in the 4200 block of N Arizona Street, according to the Mohave County Sheriff’s office. NEIGHBOR GIRL GROPING BRINGS GUILTY PLEA

  An elderly Kingman man charged with sex offenses involving a 12-year-old neighbor entered a plea agreement on Friday, July 28. Charles Napolitano, 70, pled guilty to two counts of sexual abuse. Kingman police said the victim was the subject of grooming behavior last summer that escalated into improper hugging and breast groping. PLEA DEAL REJECTED IN BRUTAL BEATING CASE

  A Mohave County Superior Court judge has rejected the sentencing limitations and a plea agreement for a Bullhead City man responsible for the brutal beating of his former girlfriend in May, 2016.
