GRADING UNDERWAY AT DOT FOODS PROJECT SITE

Preliminary work is underway where Dot Foods will build a food redistribution warehouse facility in Bullhead City. A permit was issued and grading is taking place on the roughly 40-acre parcel just east of the tower at the Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport. Bullhead City Manager Toby Cotter said a project engineer previously submitted plans for the 180,000 square foot facility the company plans to build on-site. Cotter said city officials have made comments and sent the plans back for revision.        A contentious March 16 meeting of the Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District (NACFD) governing board featured plenty of debate but no action on fire administration leadership.    Key considerations involved the possible removal of Tim King from his post as interim Fire Chief and adopting a plan to recruit a new full time fire chief. PRESCRIBED BURNS PLANNED IN THE HUALAPAI MOUNTAINS

The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM), Kingman Field Office and Colorado River District Fire Management Office, in cooperation with the Arizona Game and Fish Department, will conduct a prescribed burn in the Hualapai Mountains southeast of Kingman in the coming weeks.  Burning operations will take place over multiple days through April 1st, pending appropriate weather conditions, and are expected to be complete within three to five days after ignition.  Local fire departments and emergency management agencies will be coordinated with prior to ignitions.   The purpose of the burn is to treat approximately 1,500 acres of dense interior chaparral...

    The first prefabricated bridge built in Arizona was installed in Mohave County on Oatman Highway along Route 66 over the Sacramento Wash in Topock March 13-16.
