One republican candidate for the District 5 state house of representatives has challenged the candidacy of another. Paul Mosley of Lake Havasu City is trying to keep Quartzite resident Jennifer Jones off the election ballot. La Paz County Fair Closed Friday Night After Lighting Rig Falls

It could have been much worse, but no one was seriously injured Friday night when high winds knocked down a large lighting rig on the main entertainment stage at the La Paz County Fair. Four people are believed to have suffered minor injuries with one woman being transported to La Paz Regional Medical Center with a moderate injury to her leg, where she was treated and eventually released. Driver arrested after rollover accident near Quartzsite

The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) has arrested the driver of a vehicle that rolled off Highway 95 in La Paz County, but it’s unknown what charges they face. A DPS spokesman confirmed that the driver has been taken into custody.  The one-vehicle, rollover accident took place just south of the Quartzsite town limits at around 5 a.m. DPS says there were seven occupants on board at the time of the accident.
