Mohave County, in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration and the Arizona Department of Transportation is preparing to construct a Prefabricated Bridge Element (PBE) on Oatman Highway along Route 66 over the Sacramento Wash in Topock, one mile north of Interstate 40. ERACE PROBE IDENTIFIES ALLEGED ILLEGAL DUMPER

   A Golden Shores area transient is suspected of illegally dumping yard waste along a rural roadway. Jackson Fink, 55, was charged with criminal littering for commercial purposes, a class 6 felony.    On October 24th, 2016 ERACE detectives opened a case in reference to multiple telephone calls received from Golden Shores residents that located an illegally dumped pile of large palm trees and trimmings along the dirt continuation of Monarch Drive, east of Route 66.    Clearly visible drag marks and trail of wood shavings led detectives to a residence with similar trees on the property. LEAPER MISSES RIVER; LANDS IN BOAT

A Canyon Country, California man landed in a boat when he tried to jump into the Colorado River from a railroad bridge in Topock. The Mohave County Sheriff’s office said 20-year-old Kenneth Wegner was knocked unconscious after his more than 20-foot drop into the 21-foot boat about 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 6. Wegner was rescued from the water and flown to a Las Vegas hospital for treatment of serious injuries. A 24-year old woman who was hurt on the boat was transported to a hospital in Needles.  ...

OATMAN HIGHWAY FLOODED

A three mile stretch of the Oatman highway is closed due to flooding. The Mohave County public works department says water was flowing over the highway Tuesday morning and that lots of sand deposits would have to be cleaned up once the flooding subsides.
