The Lake Havasu City police department has worked social media sites to make a number of prostitution related arrests over the past year or more. Each case has developed in similar fashion, including the arrest of Clara Clark on June 15. Police reports indicate a detective perused the “Backpage.com women for men” section and began texting a woman later identified as Clark, 42, Lake Havasu City. HAVASU METH BUST

A routine traffic stop on June 27 evolved into a drug bust in Lake Havasu City. Mohave County Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Trish Carter said a traffic stop for an expired plate was initiated at 9:30 a.m. on London Bridge Road near Lake Drive. Carter said deputies confirmed that the vehicle registration had expired and that the license of the driver had been suspended. James Robert Pinkerton, 60, was subsequently arrested when deputies seized 26 grams of methamphetamine, prescription drug pills and drug paraphernalia during a search of the vehicle. NAKED—PAINTED—ARRESTED

  A north Kingman resident discovered a partially painted and mostly naked man in her kitchen Tuesday evening, June 27. Mohave County sheriff’s office spokeswoman Trish Carter said the 37-year old woman had returned home about 7:30 p.m. and spotted the naked intruder looking for food inside her home in the 2700 block of E Calle Cedral. CHILD SEX SUSPECT RETURNED FOR PROSECUTION

A man wanted for sex crimes involving two young girls in Golden Valley has been arrested out of state. The Mohave County Sheriff’s office said Malakai Thomas Benta, 31, Golden Valley said Benta was a suspect in the ongoing sexual abuse of girls aged 12 and 14 at a residence in the 3200 block of Bryce Road. Benta was arrested by sheriff’s deputies in Inyo County, California on February 18. TRAFFIC STOP NETS 11 GRAM METH SEIZURE

A late night weekend traffic stop in Desert Hills led to a drug arrest. The Mohave County Sheriff’s office said deputies pulled over Sean Randall Fleming in the 2100 block of Lake Drive at 10:50 p.m. Saturday, March 4. “Deputies located two plastic bags inside Fleming’s pocket,” a news release stated. “One bag contained residue while the other contained approximately 11 grams of a white crystal substance which field tested positive for methamphetamine.” Fleming was arrested and transported to Kingman where he was booked into jail for multiple drug...
