Low pressure will drop in from the northwest bringing strong winds to the entire region. San Bernardino County will see it first on Thursday with Southwest wind gusts to 55 mph. Wildfire 50% Contained

The Topock fire south of Needles is 50% contained. Authorities said the wet weather has helped prevent spread of the fire that started on the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge early Wednesday morning. The fire crossed the Colorado River Wednesday and spread rapidly, pushed by strong winds. The fire covers some 2,200 acres.
