NEW GAMBLING DATA

The Nevada Gaming Control Board has issued statistical reports for the month of June, as well as fiscal 2016-17. Gaming properties in Laughlin experienced a decline in the former while enjoying a gain in the latter. Clubs along the Colorado River had a gaming take just about $37-million in June, down a little more than 4% from the same month last year. The 30th Annual Community Achievement Awards will take place at the Aquarius Casino Resort on October 7th at 5:00 p.m. inside the Pavilion. BEAT THE HEAT AT COOLING STATIONS

Cooling stations are operation Friday and Saturday in Laughlin. The stations provide opportunity for heat relief with afternoon temperatures projected at 120-degrees. POSSIBLE RIVER DROWNING

  The body of a man who went missing late Sunday was recovered Monday from the Arizona side of the Colorado River in Bullhead City. Police Department spokeswoman Carina Spotts said law enforcement responded at 11:45 p.m. to reports that a man in the water by the Golden Nugget casino in Laughlin appeared to be in distress. An unsuccessful search was suspended overnight. The body of the possible drowning victim was recovered from the river at 8:50 a.m. Monday near Moser Avenue in Bullhead City. Spotts said it’s unclear how the California man came to be in the water....
