Deadline to file for Laughlin Town Board is Today

Today is the last day residents will be able to throw their hats into the ring for this year’s first ever election for the Laughlin Town Advisory Board. So far, seven people have formally filed the necessary paperwork to put their name on the ballot. Laughlin is the only unincorporated township in Clark County to have more candidates running for office than there are seats available. All five seats on the town board will be up for election. Laughlin Town Manager to Retire Next Month

After 46 years in public service, the last 30 of which were in Clark County, Laughlin Town Manager Jackie Brady is retiring. She made the announcement during Tuesday’s Town Advisory Board meeting. Brady was Clark County’s liaison to all rural town advisory boards and citizen advisory councils when she was tabbed to be the interim town manager in 1995, replacing Mike Cool, who had retired. BHC Sgt. Dies Near Searchlight

A Bullhead City police sergeant was off duty when he died in his own pickup truck in southern Nevada Tuesday. Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Chelsea Stuenkel said investigators believe that Rodney Polomski, 52, possibly suffered a medical episode when the 2008 Ford F250 he was driving left Highway 95 and came to a stop in the desert about 16 miles north of Searchlight.
