A Bullhead City woman was arrested after her husband called police about their young daughter’s injuries. Police Department spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said the father noticed that the two year-old girl was in pain and having difficulty walking when her returned home from work the evening of May 3.
“He observed severe bruising on her body that wasn’t there when he left for work in the morning,” Fromelt said. “When he asked his daughter what happened, she said mommy had hit her.”
The toddler was rushed to a local hospital where she was treated for severe bruising and swelling on her back, buttocks, legs, arms and hands, Fromelt said. She said the mother, Mary Lila Faleafine, 26, indicated she disciplined her daughter by hitting her with a plastic stick for several minutes.
Faleafine was booked into jail for domestic violence and child abuse charges.
