A north Kingman resident was arrested for child abuse following an argument with his girlfriend and an encounter with her daughter. The violence occurred July 21 at a residence in the 4200 block of N Arizona Street, according to the Mohave County Sheriff’s office.

Agency spokeswoman Trish Carter said Jonathan Irving, 31, was exiting the residence when the woman’s 12 year-old daughter was in his path to the doorway.

“Irving’s girlfriend further reported that Irving picked her daughter up by the neck and threw her into a wall,” Carter said in a news release. “The victim further said that she hit her head on the wall and fell to the floor.”

Medical personnel treated the girl and Irving was taken into custody at another Kingman residence and booked into jail.
