“Climb For The Fallen.” This event provides the local firefighters a way to remember their fallen brothers by climbing 110 stories at the local high-rise. The first year over 90 firefighters from surrounding areas came out to be apart of this humbling tribute. This event gives the firefighters a chance to recreate the events of 9-11 as the FDNY heroes responded to the Twin Towers. Each firefighter
carries a lanyard that has the sketch of one of the fallen 343 as a tribute to the ultimate sacrifice they made. Firefighters also wear turnout gear and carry tools, just as the FDNY firefighters did in 2001. Climb For The Fallen occurs across the state and at ASU’s new stadium Friday.
