A 30-month-long effort has resulted in better organization of scores and scores of ordinances adopted over the years by the Mohave County Board of supervisors. A contract vendor working with county officials recently completed the ordinance codification campaign.
Nathan McDaniel, the county’s Information Technology Director, said trying to find ordinances relating to a particular subject matter was a difficult proposition in the past because the measures were logged and referenced by numbers associated with the month and year that they were adopted.
McDaniel said interested parties can now use key words like “noise” or “livestock” in a search engine to identify ordinances of possible interest. The work can be done online through use of the county website.
Board of Supervisors Chairman Jean Bishop said the codification effort is an important achievement.
