The Bureau of Reclamation in coordination with the National Park Service (NPS), the City of Bullhead City, Mohave County, and Clark County, is seeking public comment on a draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Arizona Heritage Trail System within Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
The EA evaluates the potential environmental impacts of constructing and maintaining approximately 3.5 miles of hardened surface trail which would reach the existing Colorado River Heritage Greenway Park and Trails in Nevada, creating about a seven mile loop connecting the communities of Bullhead City, Arizona and Laughlin, Nevada.
The proposed Trail would be located in Mohave County, Arizona, between Lake Mohave and Bullhead City. Reclamation and the NPS would authorize use of Reclamation and NPS land for the trail and would construct the trail. Once completed, the trail would be operated, patrolled, and maintained by the City of Bullhead City and Mohave County.
The draft EA was prepared in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act. The document may be viewed on Reclamation’s internet page https://www.usbr.gov/lc/region/ g2000/envdocs.html
The project partners are requesting your comments on the draft EA. Please send written comments to the Bureau of Reclamation, Attn: LC 2620, Bureau of Reclamation, P.O. Box 61470, Boulder City, NV 89006. Electronic comments may be submitted to prj-lcr- email@example.com. Please ensure your comments are postmarked by May 12, 2017.
