Trucks-2-copyOn June 25, 2015 from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm the Hualapai Nation Police Department will be conducting Commercial Vehicle Inspections to promote safe driving practices, on East Highway 66 through Peach Springs Arizona (The Hualapai Nation Tribal Reservation).

The inspections will take place on Mesa View Drive at High View Drive in front of the Hualapai Public Works Department. Access will remain open to the BIA Fire District Office and the Hualapai Public Works.

The goal is to ensure traffic safety for the traveling public, while educating Commercial Vehicle Drivers on the importance of safe driving habits and pre-trip inspections. Each year there are over 41,000 deaths related to commercial vehicle collisions. The Hualapai Nation Tribal Reservations sees hundreds of commercial vehicles pass through no Route 66 each week. In an effort to prevent tragedies involving commercial vehicles from occurring, zero tolerance enforcement will take place during this event.

The Hualapai Nation Police Department encourages drivers to “stay out of the no zone”. Avoid blind spots by making sure the truck driver can see you in their mirrors. For further information, contact Sergeant Brian Frayer at (928)769-1024.
