The National Park Service (NPS) has released a prospectus seeking proposals for a 15-year business concession opportunity to operate a full service marina at Katherine Landing in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area (LMNRA).

A concession contractor would provide boat rental and moorage services, and operate food, beverage, fuel, campground and related enterprises at the Bullhead City area marina.

“Katherine Landing is the second most popular area within Lake Mead National Recreation Area,” a news release stated. “In 2016, more than 800,000 people visited the area. Last year, more than $11-million in improvements were made to the main access road and parking areas.”

Representatives of 12 companies toured Katherine Landing on March 29. Interested parties have until June 28 to submit proposals. The prospectus can be viewed on the National park Service Commercial Services website at
