A Lake Havasu City man who failed to attend his trial was convicted of five of seven felony charges Wednesday. While the jury acquitted Marcus Fortune, 24, of marijuana and weapons related offenses, he was convicted of five other charges including possession for sale of heroin and methamphetamine.
Prosecutor Kellen Marlow said about an ounce of heroin was seized in Fortune’s bedroom during a late January search of a home in the 3200 block of Palm Grove Drive. He said case co-defendants have entered plea agreements.
Marlow faces a minimum of five years in prison when sentenced.
