COOLING-CENTERSLAUGHLIN-The American Legion Richard Springston Post 60, 1510 Bruce Woodbury Drive, will be open 24 hours from now until Saturday, June 28 for those seeking shelter from the hot temperatures hitting the Tri-state this week.

The Colorado River Food Bank is also extending the days they will be opening their doors for people to cool off. They will be open from now until Friday, June 27 from 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. The CRFB is located at 240 Laughlin Civic Drive, near South Casino Drive.

Temperatures are expected to be between 115-118 this week, with humidity moving in as the monsoonal season begins.

Residents are urged to use extreme caution when outside in the direct sun. Emergency officials ask for residents to keep an eye on children, the homeless, elderly and those with chronic illnesses thay may be affected by the high temperatures.
