The American Legion Richard Springston Post 60, 1510 Bruce Woodbury Drive, will be open for public use from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day.
The Colorado River Food Bank has also designated their building as a cooling station on Friday, June 19 and Monday, June 22 from 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. They are located at 240 Laughlin Civic Drive, near South Casino Drive.
The Excessive Heat Watch has been extended until late Monday night, bringing in temperatures nearing 120 degrees.
Residents are urged to use extreme caution when outside in the direct sun. Emergency officials ask for residents to keep an eye on children, the homeless, elderly and those with chronic illnesses thay may be affected by the high temperatures.
