Mohave County Recorder Carol Meier died in Kingman Thursday, February 4. Meier, 68, had recently entered in-home hospice care for undisclosed health challenges.
“Meier’s bubbly personality and dedication to Mohave County will certainly be missed, said Board of Supervisors Chairman Jean Bishop. “Please keep Carol and her family in your thoughts and prayers.”
Services are pending.
Meier served as County Recorder for a little more than seven years and was completing her second term of office. Her Chief Deputy Kristi Blair assumed leadership of the office.
Both Blair and County Voter Registration Supervisor Kim Stewart are seeking candidacy for the Recorder’s position in the current election cycle.
The Recorder’s Office oversees recording, voter registration and early ballot functions. The office maintains pertinent public records involving many transactions such as real estate, mining, personal property, mortgages, tax liens, leases, subdivision plats, official appointments of office, and other miscellaneous documents.
