An Arizona Appellate Court will conduct a hearing at Kingman High School next Monday as part of an outreach effort affording students a peak inside the legal world. Attorneys will argue a real probation violation case from Yavapai County before the thee judge panel.
Court Visits KHS
“The students will see the oral arguments,” Judge Kent Cattani, noting no ruling would come until later. “The three judges will take the matter under advisement and then will issue a decision in due course.”
Cattani said the two hour program will also allow some communication between Court officials and students.
“We think it’s a great opportunity to interact,” Cattani said. “We talk about careers in law and in general how the Court system operates.”
Cattani said the Court usually holds two or three high school outreach programs around the state each year. “We hope we provide a worthwhile experience for the kids,” he said.
