mohave county court houseThe Board of Supervisors made two key decisions today regarding future construction of a new Mohave County Courthouse. Member Buster Johnson dissented in the 4-1 vote to build a new courthouse near the historical courthouse in downtown Kingman, rather than near the new jail and sheriff’s office closer to the Interstate 40/US 93 junction. The Board also voted 4-1 directing staff to prepare a request for proposals soliciting architectural services for project design. Many decisions will be made in the future, but today’s approvals move forward a concept first envisioned by Presiding Judge Leonard Langford 35 years ago.
