Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Justin James Koch, 35, of Kingman, Wednesday (1/7) morning for possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies. Approximately 8:36 a.m., deputies responded to a residence in the 2800 block of Devlin Avenue regarding a detained burglary suspect. Upon arrival, deputies observed a male subject later identified as Koch on the ground while another male subject was standing nearby. Deputies contacted the reporting party. The RP said that they are watching their neighbor’s house and this morning she observed a male subject coming from the property carrying firewood. The RP further said that she and her husband contacted the male subject and detained him until law enforcement arrived. Deputies contacted Koch. During conversations with Koch, he said that he was collecting pieces of wood as he thought the property was abandoned. Deputies found Koch to be in possession of two plastic bags containing a white crystal substance. Koch was taken into custody without incident. He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail. Further charges of trespassing and burglary are pending contact with the owner/victim.
