An investigation is underway after Phoenix firefighters find a dead body in an apartment fire.  Captain Rob McDade with the Phoenix Fire Department says crews showed up to an apartment where smoke was billowing from the bedroom.  When crews walked into the bedroom, they noticed smoldering clothes and a fire

that was “essentially putting itself out.”  Once the smoke was cleared and the fire was put out, crews found the dead body.  Phoenix Police Sergeant Vince Lewis says the body is a 35-year-old man.   An investigation into his manner of death and cause of the fire is underway.  An autopsy will reveal the cause of death.
