One person has died in a trailer fire in Mesa.  Rural Metro Fire Department spokesman Colin Williams says firefighters were called to a trailer fire early Thursday morning after neighbors saw heavy smoke coming from this

manufactured home.  When firefighters arrived on scene, they were blocked from entering the residence due to “a lot of furniture and personal belongings that were positioned in a way that made firefighting difficult.”  Firefighters went on the defensive and surrounded the home and quickly extinguished the fire. After the fire was knocked out, crews entered the home and discovered the body of one man.  It’s unclear what caused the fire.  Williams says Rural Metro and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the cause.  As winter weather approaches, Williams cautions those who use various heating devices inside their home to make sure they have a working smoke detector.
