Kenneth Dean has decided not to seek election to the Kingman City Council seat to which he was appointed. Dean informed fellow council members during their May 17 meeting.
When appointed to a vacant council seat late last year Dean indicated he intended to run for a four year term in the current election cycle. He said he has learned through his council experience, however, that he does not have enough time to devote adequate attention to city affairs on top of his employment demands.
Dean said he has enjoyed his council experience and will remain involved in community betterment endeavors once his term expires. He also advised prospective candidates to carefully measure the amount of time they have available to devote to council affairs.
