The death of a man whose remains were recovered in a dangerous search and rescue mission over the weekend is under investigation by police in Lake Havasu City.  Police Lieutenant Tom Gray said the death is not being treated as suspicious, though it’s not known how the subject came to be in an area north of SARA Park.

Mohave County Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Trish Carter said county search and rescue personnel helped recover the remains after hikers discovered a leg of the deceased subject protruding from a small ledge on the side of a mountain face on Sunday, April 2. Carter said a helicopter and rope rescue effort retrieved the remains, which were transported to the medical examiner’s office in an ongoing effort to determine identity and cause of death.
