Medical incident on Lake HavasuCounty Sheriff’s Waterway deputies are investigating the death of a male subject.  Saturday (8/22) afternoon, at about 2:10 p.m., deputies responded to a cove on the Arizona side of Lake Havasu, just north of Cat Tail State Park in reference to a subject who had gone into the water and was now not breathing.  Dispatch advised that family on scene were doing CPR.  Upon arrival and being the first emergency personnel on scene, deputies observed a male subject on shore with another subject performing CPR.  Deputies entered the water and took over the CPR and prepared the male subject for transport.  Lake Havasu City Fire Boat personnel arrived on scene and the male subject was loaded onto their boat and they took over the CPR.  The male subject was transported to the Cat Tail Cove launch ramp where he was pronounced deceased.  Witnesses advised that they were on the lake and were beached and anchored in a cove.  Witnesses further advised that Rene Recio, 75, of Covina, CA. jumped off the back of the boat feet first into approximately 5 feet of water.  Witnesses said that Recio came up from the water and began swimming around.  Witnesses further said next thing they saw was that Recio was floating face down in the water next to the boat.  They immediately pulled him from the water and began CPR.  Investigation is pending autopsy.
