SAR at Burro Creek BridgeMohave County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Units responded Wednesday (1/14) evening to a person that did not survive after jumping off the Burro Creek Bridge from Highway 93, approximately 15 miles south of Wikieup.  Apparently, the male subject called advising he was about to jump when his phone disconnected.   The call came into to dispatch at about 5:53 p.m.   A Department  of Public Safety officer responded to the area and confirmed a body was located below the bridge.  The victim was determined deceased at the scene.  Search and Rescue members secured the scene throughout the night as the rugged terrain and evening hours prohibited the recovery team.  Thursday (1/15) morning at about 10:00 a.m., SAR Volunteers and with the assistance of the Department of Public Safety Tucson Ranger helicopter, the victim’s body was recovered and released to the Mohave County Medical Examiner.  This incident remains under investigation pending the autopsy report.
