IMG_7443Armed with rakes, trash bags, gloves, and machinery… dozens of volunteers tackled Desert Clean-Up, Wednesday, in an effort to beautify our desert. “The scenery, the solitude; it’s why we moved out here,” said volunteer Bette Koivisto. “It’s sad to see what we see in the desert and it needs to change.” Trash, including tires, furniture, watercrafts, electronics, bullet casings from target shooters, and other items that were illegally dumped were removed from the desert areas near North Oatman and Silver Creek Roads, east of the Bullhead Parkway. The Desert Clean-Up is a joint effort of the City of Bullhead City, Arizona Game & Fish, Bureau of Land Management, Mohave County’s ERASE program, Tri-State Shooting Park and Republic Services.
