homeless vetsBy Michael Gordon

PHOENIX – The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development estimates about half of homeless veterans suffer from mental illness. That makes the fight against veteran homelessness a tough one, because those vets have a hard time stabilizing. Victory Place in Phoenix helps house veterans, and recently broke ground on a new development. But the housing is only the half of it. The facility has also instituted crisis intervention and counseling services.
