shoesMOHAVE COUNTY-Last November, a young girl by the name of Mackenzie was adopted 6 months shy of her 18th birthday. Prior to being adopted, Mackenzie lived in 26 different places while in foster care. Mackenzie at times went without shoes, even showing up to school barefoot. Mackenzie and her adoptive parents had the great idea to collect shoes for children in Arizona foster care homes.

Now, Mackenzie is asking for the public’s help to reach her goal of collecting 17,000 pairs of shoes so that every child in the care of the Department of Child Safety will have a new pair when they arrive.

Donations can be dropped off at these locations: Mohave Valley Fire Department, 1451 E. Willow Dr., Mohave Valley from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday; Potter’s House, 2256 Kaibab Dr., Bullhead City, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday-Friday and Wednesday/Sunday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Southwest Behavioral and Health Services, 2580 Hwy 95, Ste 120, Bullhead City, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday; Mohave County Probation, 5287 S.
