Dot Foods Inc., continues planning activity in advance of construction of a food distribution facility in Mohave Valley. The Illinois-based company has not yet secured the contractor that will build the 190,000 sq. ft. facility.
Mohave County and the state of Arizona agreed in early June to provide $1-million in financial incentive in exchange for the company promise to eventually employ at least 125 people.
“We are moving full speed ahead and right now we are looking at a time line of breaking ground in the beginning of December of this year with plans to have the facility operational in early November, 2017,” said company spokeswoman Emily Waterman.
Waterman said the company is working with Mohave Community College officials to make use of its truck driver training program to teach its future workforce. She said the company will likely lease some property to stage trucks and product and commence initial operation in advance of the distribution center opening.
