A couple has been killed after a drunk driver plows into them at an intersection in Avondale early Sunday.  Deputy Joaquin Enriquez with the Maricopa county Sheriff’s Office says 23-year-old Cesar Villanueva was speeding and intoxicated when he slammed into a car which catapulted that car into another car.  Enriquez

says the impact was so great and so strong that Villanueva ripped the car apart and literally “shredded it.”   The roof is gone, the side passenger side is gone, all shredded.  The couple in that car died, the woman died at the scene and the man was pronounced dead a nearby hospital.  Villanueva and his passenger walked away from the accident unscathed.  Villanueva was booked on two counts of manslaughter resulting from being impaired and speeding at the time of the crash.  Villanueva may face 2nd Degree Murder charges if tests reveal his speed was excessive.
