Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested David Alan Gearhart, 51, of Kingman, early Wednesday (12/16) morning for possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies, and DUI, misdemeanor.  As deputies were traveling eastbound on Highway 68, they observed a vehicle veer off the roadway.  Approximately 1:00 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 68 at Hunt Road and contacted Gearhart, the driver.  Deputies smelled an odor of alcohol on Gearhart.  During conversations with Gearhart, he admitted to having two beers earlier.  Following the field sobriety tests (FST’s), Gearhart was taken into custody.  A search of the vehicle revealed a cigarette pack containing a plastic bag of a white crystal substance which field tested positive for methamphetamine.   Gearhart was transported to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.  A blood sample was taken from Gearhart to be submitted to the DPS Crime Lab for further analysis.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without incident.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.
