Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jason Dixon Tate, 41, and Miera Lon Menendez, 34, both of Kingman, early Tuesday (1/27) evening. Tate was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and fraudulent utility service, felonies. Menendez was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies. At about 8:25 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of Northern Avenue and Diagonal Way. Deputies contacted the driver. During the investigation, deputies received consent from the driver to search the vehicle. Deputies contacted Menendez, the front seat passenger, and Tate the rear seat passenger. Deputies had Menendez and Tate exit the vehicle. Deputies located a glass pipe with residue on the floorboard where Menendez was sitting. A search of Menendez’s purse revealed a plastic bag containing a white crystal substance. Menendez was taken into custody without incident. Deputies continued their search and located a Unisource digital electric meter. Deputies confirmed the meter is owned by the electric company. During conversations with Tate, he said that he picked up the meter outside of his house which was on the ground and he planned on bringing it Unisource on Wednesday (1/28). Tate was taken into custody without incident. They were transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail. The driver was released at the scene.
