A Valley school teacher who caused a fatal crash in Chandler only two days after Christmas is facing second-degree murder charges.  According to Chandler police, 30-year-old teacher Erica Flynn was driving drunk and heading south on Arizona Avenue off Loop 202 in late December when she raced through a red

light and slammed into a car driven by 66-year-old grandmother Kathleen Searcy.  Searcy was pronounced dead at the scene.  Flynn, who is a third-grade teacher for Frye Elementary School, registered a blood alcohol level of .283, three times the legal limit.  A tearful and wheelchair-bound Flynn made her first court appearance Friday.   The judge released Flynn on bond, noting Flynn has never even had so much as a traffic ticket.  Flynn has been charged with Murder in the second degree.
