Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Dwayne Dean Shawhan, 43, of Kingman on Sunday (9/20) evening for Aggravated DUI, a felony. Approximately 6:00 pm, deputies responded to a call from a citizen who reported a reckless driver and provided a description of the vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle at a residence in the 3500 block of Cardinal Lane. Deputies contacted the driver, identified as Shawhan. Deputies smelled a strong odor of alcohol from Shawhan and observed him having trouble maintaining his balance. During conversations, Shawhan denied operating the vehicle. A record check showed Shawhan to have a suspended driver’s license out of Missouri. Shawhan was taken into custody without incident. When asked to perform an analysis of his blood alcohol concentration (BAC), Shawhan would not answer deputies. Deputies requested an order from the Mohave County judge to obtain a blood test to determine his blood alcohol concentration (BAC). Shawhan was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center where the blood draw was conducted. Shawhan was then transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
