Dynamite was unearthed during Thursday landscaping activity in downtown Kingman. Police responded to the property in the 200 block of Spruce Street at 9:10 p.m.
“The investigation revealed that 16 sticks of Dupont Dynamite manufactured on October 5, 1953 were discovered,” said police spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki. “Due to their deteriorated condition, the dynamite was soaked with diesel fuel and burned.”
The Bullhead City bomb squad, Kingman Fire Department and River Medical assisted Kingman police during the incident.
