Utility crews have been busy this week at the highly visible intersection of Stockton Hill Road and Beverly Avenue in Kingman. A couple of cranes are being used to erect a tall steel utility pole on the southeastern edge of the campus of Kingman Regional Medical Center. “It’s part of an ongoing commitment of ours to improve reliability in our system,” said Bill DeJulio, Electric Operations Manager for UniSource Energy Services. “We’ll be rebuilding all of our transmission throughout the Kingman area.” Dejulio said the much taller pole at the busy intersection helps elevate the electric wires up above the parking lot lighting at the hospital. He said the work at that location, and other efforts along Beverly Avenue will also increase the load bearing capacity of the electrical transmission system.
