Ready to recycle! Just a reminder that Saturday, October 24 is the Electronic Recycle Drive and Document Shred event from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Public Works Annex parking lot and on Sunday, October 25 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. the Household Hazardous Waste Collection will be held at the Motor Vehicle Department parking lot. Residents from Fort Mohave, Mohave Valley, Laughlin and surrounding areas are invited to join Bullhead City residents for a day of recycling, disposing of hazardous items and shredding of documents in a safe manner.
On Saturday, Mohave Community College Computer Club in conjunction with E-Waste Harvesters will collect your unwanted electronics on Saturday, October 24. These would include items such as flat screen TVs and monitors, computer components, recorders, MP3, video players, DVD/VHS players, digital cameras, radios, telephones, printers, microwaves, toaster ovens, audio/visual equipment and telecom equipment. CRT televisions will be collected at a charge of $15 cash. The recyclers will be located in the Public Works Annex parking lot next to the Motor Vehicle Department. Mohave Shred will be on site Saturday also and available to shred your recyclable papers for a nominal fee of $5 per box and donating the proceeds to the Colorado River Boys & Girls Club. On Sunday, the Bullhead City Fire Department will be collecting your unwanted aerosol cans, automotive fluids, motor oil (participants will be limited to 5 gallons of used motor oil and paint. All containers must be closed and leak-proof), transmission fluid, antifreeze, brake fluid, batteries, chemistry sets, compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs), gasoline and kerosene, household cleaners, mercury, outdated prescription medication, paint products latex, oil based, alkaloid and bases, arts/crafts chemicals, rust preservatives, creosote, water sealers, paint thinners, furniture strippers, pesticides/herbicides, rodent killers, insecticides, weed killers, mothballs, fertilizer, photo chemicals, pool chemicals. Any other household product labeled: CAUTION, WARNING, DANGER, POISON, TOXIC, FLAMMABLE, COMBUSTIBLE, OR CORROSIVE. DO NOT BRING: Commercial waste or explosives.
