Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a suspicious object located in a vacant lot in a residential area late Tuesday morning.  At about 11:00 a.m. deputies responded to the 8000 block of S Carob Drive regarding a resident in the area reported spotting an artillery simulator.

The simulator appeared to have been tampered with recently as someone may have attempted to detonate it.  The device was approximately 5 to 6 inches in length.

The Bullhead City Police Department’s Bomb Squad responded.  The BHCPD Bomb Squad used their robot to relocate the device to a safe area, about 50 yards away, where the device was detonated.

The scene was cleared by 1:30 p.m.
