Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Courtney Marie Atwood, 34, and Leonard Lee Weidner III, 26, both of Lake Havasu City on Tuesday (12/30) evening. Atwood was arrested for false reporting to law enforcement, driving with a suspended license and an outstanding warrant, all misdemeanors. Weidner was arrested for false reporting to law enforcement. Approximately 4:00 pm, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Vista Drive. Deputies contacted the female driver, later identified as Atwood, who advised she had no identification and verbally identified herself. Atwood provided deputies with a name and date of birth. During further conversations with Atwood, deputies noticed several inconsistencies. Deputies contacted the passenger, identified as Weidner. Weidner agreed with Atwood and continued to provide a false name. After continuing to speak with deputies, Atwood admitted she provided false information due to having a warrant for her arrest. Weidner admitted to the false information due to the outstanding warrant for Atwood. A record check confirmed a warrant for failure to appear issued by Lake Havasu City Municipal Court. A further check showed Atwood to have a suspended driver’s license. Atwood and Weidner were taken into custody without incident. Atwood and Weidner were transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
