A little boy is rushed to the hospital after his Phoenix home goes up in flames.  fire Captain Aaron Ernsberger with Phoenix Fire says someone in the family was awake and smelled smoke when they discovered the fire.  The woman woke up the family and escaped the fire.  A young boy was transferred to the hospital for smoke

inhalation, along with scrapes and bruises as a only a precaution.  Unfortunately, two cats weren’t able to make it out alive.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.  Ernsberger says the family is lucky to be alive because they had no working smoke alarm.
