A deadly accident on the U.S. 60 in Mesa shuts down the road during Tuesday morning’s rush hour. State Trooper Tim Case says the crash involved an S-U-V and a smaller B-M-V convertible on the eastbound 60 just after 7:30. The crash occurred east of Stapley.
Case says a Chevy Tahoe rear-ended the slower-moving B-M-V traveling in the number 2 lane. It’s unknown how slow the vehicle was traveling.
Case says the 61 year old woman driving the B-M-W died at the scene. A woman driving the S-U-V suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized as a precaution. Impairment is not a factor. The eastbound 60 was shut down for two hours before reopening midday.
