The body of a man swallowed by a sinkhole in Queen Creek has been recovered.  Doug Madison with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office says 60-year-old Guadalupe Nila got out of his truck and was sucked into a sinkhole about 15 feet wide and 18 feet deep.  He says part of the berm that was blocking all of the water

from going into the sinkhole let go, so it was like a raging river of water that was pouring into the sinkhole.  It appears Nila ultimately succumbed by drowning of suffocation.  Madison says it was just a “freak accident” but investigators are surveying the farmland making sure the land to uncover other potential sinkholes.
