A wrong-way driver has been killed after a head-on collision in Stanfield.  Department of Public Safety Spokesman Raul Garcia says DPS received several calls about a wrong-way driver along Interstate-8 in Stanfield overnight.  Before officers could catch up with driver, he rammed his pickup truck head-on into a car

carrying three people.  The driver of the car had to be cut free from the wreckage and airlifted to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.  A second person was also injured and transported to a local hospital.  The third person was not injured.  The wrong-way driver was pronounced dead at the scene.  Garcia says impairment has not been ruled out as a factor in the crash.
