The Federal Bureau of Land Management is gearing up for what they believe will be an early
and more intense wildfire season as late monsoon and heavy winter moisture have
increased the amount of vegetation available to burn, especially in the lower
desert elevations.

BLM officials say
much of the problem stems from the early winter moisture causing plant growth
and then later, drier, weather drying it out.
Garcia says they are already seeing wildfires and she asks everyone to
be mindful of every spark as most fires in Arizona are human caused.
