Local authorities who had hoped to release additional information regarding a criminal investigation focused on a Fort Mohave doctor say they are unable to do so because a federal prosecutor convinced a judge to order the sealing of an indictment and other public records.

Dr. Shakeel Kahn, 50, and his wife Lyn, 45, were arrested Wedesday in Casper, Wyoming.

The Kahns are held in the Natrona County jail in Casper. There’s no indication of what charges they face as the paperwork simply indicates they are held on a bench warrant.

Dr. Kahn, a pain management specialist, operated an office in Caspar, as well as Fort Mohave. The DEA said $750,000 in cash, 49 weapons, and 8 vehicles were confiscated during a November 15 search of Dr. Kahn’s home and office in Fort Mohave.

The DEA said additional warrants were served at an undisclosed Fort Mohave location as well as in Casper.

Clearly, Dr. Kahn is the focus of investigation involving alleged criminal drug prescription activity. Civil proceedings resulted in his loss of license and privilege to practice medicine in both Arizona and Wyoming.
