Easterly winds have pushed smoke into the tri-state area from a southern California forest fire. Visibility is reduced and there’s a hint of the smell of smoke in the air detected in Mohave County communities.

The Bureau of Land Management’s Wade Reaves said local officials have verified that reduced visibility is associated with the Lake Fire that ignitied Wednesday afternoon in the San Bernardino National Forest. The California fire some 250 miles to the west of Mohave County had covered about 7,500 acres by early Wednesday afternoon.
